An announcement was made from ESPN that plans to fight Shakur Stevenson & Frank Martin for the WBC lightweight title were on hold as there was some agreement between the boxing teams for a WBC purse bid but Martin's camp rejected the deal.
The title remains vacant next Sunday, December 9 as WBC super lightweight champion Regis steps up to challenge Progress.
And in the meantime the WBC released a new rating on Saturday although the ratings are exactly the same but slightly changed and Stevenson is set to face a challenger for the vacant belt again.
The top available competitors are:
- Shakur Stevenson
- Frank Martin
- Vasyl Lomachenko
- Isaac Cruz Jr
- William Zepeda
- Davis
- Abdul Kesh
- Edwin de los Santos
- Jamaine Ortiz
- Artem Harutunyan
- Shuichiro Yoshino
- Raymond Muratalla
- George Kambossos Jr
- Maxie Hughes
However, the news of this change and clash of the fights left the audience a little upset as they were looking forward to the fight but came to watch the next fights even though the fights were going to be very dangerous for De Los Santos Stevenson
